Why convert ODT and RTF to PDF
ODT (OpenDocument Text) and RTF (Rich Text Format) open in many editors, but the layout can shift between apps. Converting to PDF locks the layout so the document looks the same for everyone who opens it.

Convert it to PDF.
Download the finished PDF and review the layout.
When to use PDF instead
Use PDF when the document is finished and should not be edited further — for sharing, printing, uploading to portals, or attaching to applications. Keep the original ODT or RTF if you still need to edit the content.
Review after converting
Check headings, spacing, and page breaks after conversion, especially if the original used unusual fonts or formatting.
